Saghar Siddiqui
Saghar Siddiqui (1928-1974) was an Urdu poet Siddiqui was born in 1928 in Ambala as Muhammad Akhtar. He started writing poetry at very young age and would attend mushairas regularly. His family migrated to Pakistan in 1947 and settled in Lahore. He continued to write poetry for the film industry and published a literary magazine as well. The magazine was a critical success but a commercial flop. He couldn't suffer this loss and fell into depression. On 19 July 1974, he was found dead on a roadside in Lahore.

Phoolon ko aag lag gayi naghmaat jal gaye
Suraj ki tez dhoop me lamhaat jal gaye

Saghar lute lute hain sitaare bujhe bujhe
Shayad mere naseeb ke din raat jal gaye
